Specialist care before hospital

When someone is critically ill or seriously injured, the first few minutes matter. YMRT brings additional clinical capability to the scene, supporting ambulance crews and helping patients receive specialist care as early as possible.

We also play an important role in training the next generation of clinicians, sharing knowledge, experience and practical skills to help strengthen prehospital care for the future.

Our team is made up of doctors and paramedics with experience in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, paediatrics, acute care and prehospital emergency medicine. They volunteer their time around their NHS and clinical commitments.

Emergency Response

YMRT supports serious medical and trauma incidents across Yorkshire — road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, major trauma, complex medical emergencies and multi-agency incidents where enhanced prehospital care can make a difference.

Clinical Education

We help develop clinicians with an interest in prehospital emergency medicine through regular teaching sessions, simulation training and clinical mentoring opportunities.

Governance & Readiness

Safe prehospital care requires more than enthusiasm. YMRT maintains structured governance and audit processes to support safe, consistent care across Yorkshire.

How we help

YMRT clinicians may be called to a range of serious incidents where specialist prehospital care can make a meaningful difference.

Serious Road Traffic Collisions

Advanced clinical support at complex trauma scenes providing additional skills and experience.

Cardiac Arrest & Critical Illness

Enhanced resuscitation and critical care decision-making in the prehospital environment.

Major Trauma & Complex Incidents

Specialist support at multi-agency incidents and major trauma events across the region.

Training the Next Generation

Mentoring and developing clinicians interested in prehospital emergency medicine.

Your support helps train the next generation of specialist care providers

YMRT has no salaried employees. Our clinicians and support team give their time voluntarily. The equipment, vehicles, medicines, training, governance and infrastructure needed to run the service all carry real costs.

Every donation helps keep specialist prehospital care available for patients across Yorkshire and enables the training of the next generation of specialist care providers.
